And so we begin…

Despite claims calling for 12-24″ of snow yesterday, the grand city of Boston received less snow than I found on my car this morning (I live in the suburbs south of Boston). Because of the snow-hysteria on Tuesday, my colleagues and I rescheduled our initial kick off event for Wednesday planned to introduce The Campus Kitchen at UMass Boston. So, here we are today! Sunny Thursday and still waiting for the supposed big storm to hit…

We will be holding a mini version of the event that was supposed to happen yesterday, today! I promise, come hell or high water, we will officially welcome this wonderful endeavor to campus today. Let me reiterate: today. At 2:00pm in the Campus Center Ballroom, Maureen Roche, the Director for The Campus Kitchen Project (CKP), Jordan Kough, the National Programs Manager of The Campus Kitchens Project, with addition integral supporters and myself will be presenting explanations, our excitement, and where we see UMB fitting in with the other CKP families. This is an opportunity for students to own this project — your ideas will be the final product of what this Campus Kitchen is to become.

So come! Bring a friend! We’re informal and fun and we’ll have snacks! And if you’re super lucky, you may get one of these shirts (only the coolest are wearing them I heard):

I hope to see lots of happy student faces!
